Math has always been a subject at which I excel. I have had many teachers that have helped me through math, and one teacher has truly made a major influence on me. I have always enjoyed math; I love solving equations, plugging numbers in, drawing graphs, and finding ‘‘x’’ and ‘‘y”. On the 2.6-2.8 Algebra quiz, there was inequalities and functions, it was definitely the hardest sections in the chapter.
For each semester of the year we got a yellow sheet of paper. We were allowed to put little tips and tricks, equations, examples, and definitions on the sheet on our tests, quizzes, and exams. This really helped me remember little things that I always forgot to do, for example, converting a problem from inches to feet. Getting good grades on tests/quizzes really helps me as a person. It boosts my confidence and makes me proud of myself for my accomplishments. I chose to use the quiz and yellow sheet because the quiz really helped me boost my confidence and I probably wouldn't have been able to do it without the yellow sheet.
With the help of my yellow sheet and having a great teacher, I was able to get great grades in Algebra 2 class. Mathematics is not an important skill to have as a therapist, but you do need to know how to use it when clients pay for using my services. It is also a great skill to have for everyday life. I need to use it to pay taxes, do home banking, and get great deal when grocery shopping by extreme couponing.
