When I was a sophomore, one of my friends convinced me to join the Community Service club because it’s a great experience. So, I did join that year. By participating in community service, I was introduced to good values and morals. Values such as humbleness, gratefulness, honesty, sincerity and respect are among the important virtues that one can acquire from helping the community. The more hours I spent helping others made me appreciate more.
In February 2014, we went to the homeless shelter and served food to the homeless. I also met a lot of great people and heard their stories. It was a heart breaking experience but I am happy that I went. It really made me understand that not everyone has everything good. I actually recognized a girl who went there and I was shocked. When I saw her I would of never assumed that she went to the shelter for warm food.
Being ethical means that I pertain to or deal with morals, or the principles of morality. I can use this when I am a therapist by understanding the patient’s confidentiality. It will also be helpful when I am in college and when my roommate or one of my friends tell me something confidential, I will understand and not tell anyone.
