English has always been my strong suit. I have had many English teachers in my life, but no English teacher could have beaten my English 10 teacher. He was always supportive and understanding of high school students and made learning fun. I have always enjoyed writing. I have always thought that I excelled at it. I just love writing my thoughts down and making a essay out of it. Throughout the year, we did papers and punctuation tests. Those two exhibits helped me progress in grammar.
I wrote a paper on it, how school should replace textbooks with E-readers. Of course, I was for it because I am always up for a change. My teacher, Mr. Bulgrien, was really good about making sure our papers were as good as possible by giving us two week to work on them. He always offered to read our rough drafts to help us make them as good as possible. When he graded our papers he never just read it, put a grade on the top, he put an effort in, corrected our mistakes, and wrote on the side what we could have done to make the paper improve.
It always helped because always corrected our grammar. Mr. Bulgrein spends weeks on giving us worksheets that helps us practice proper grammar, and always gave us pre-tests that helped us understand what we needed to work on before our actual tests. It was really hard for me to receive good scores on my paper because my teacher graded it as hard as a college class did, but that was only because he wanted to help us to do the best as possible and learn from our mistakes.
English is a very important skill to have as a therapist. When I talk to my clients I can’t have bad grammar because it will make me look unprofessional. I will also need good writing skills for when I make my clients reports. When I’m in college, I will need to have excellent writing and grammar skills so that I will receive good grades in college. In college you write many papers, and I would like to use the skills I learned from English class to write the best one.
